Graduation Requirements

Graduation Requirements 

Course Requirements: 4 credits of English, 4 credits of Math (including Algebra II), 3 credits of Social Studies (including 1 credit in American History; Government; 1/2 credit of World Studies Class of 2021 and beyond), 3 credits of Science (including 1 credit in Physical; Life), 1/2 credit of Health; 1/2 credit of PE, 6 electives (including one credit of fine art).

Class of 2020, 2021, 2022

1) Complete all course requirements. 

2) Take End of Course exams in English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry, American History,
    Biology and Government.

3) Meet one of the following three:
         a)Earn a minimum of 18 points on the end of course exams.

-4 minimum points in English

-4 minimum points in Math

-6 minimum points in Science/Social Studies

-4 additional points in any area

         b) Reach a remediation-free score on an approved college admissions test. Ex. ACT
             English-18; Math-22; Reading-22

 c) Earn 12 industry credentials AND earn a minimum of 13 points (Class of 2019) or 14
            points (Class of 2020 and beyond) on the ACT WorkKeys. (This pathway is be
            completed through a vocational school such as Tri Rivers Career Center).

Alternate Pathways for the Class of 2020 (ONLY)
Option 1: Must take retake tests in ELA I, ELA II, Algebra, and Geometry with a score of 1 or 2 and meet two of the following:
-2.5 GPA junior AND senior year.
-120 hour work or community service experience during senior year (including official paperwork).
-Earn 3 or more college credit plus credits at any time during high school.
-Earn a workkeys exam of 3 on each of the three test sections.
-Meet the requirements for the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal.

Option 2: Must complete a career technical program and meet one of the following:
-Earn a total score of proficient or better based on all career technical exams or test modules.
-Earn an industry recognized credential or credentials that equal 12 points.
-Complete a workplace experience totaling 250 hours (including official paperwork).

Class of 2021 and 2022 may also meet the new graduation requirements for the Class of 2023 and beyond.
