Scholarships

I will unstrike the scholarships as they become available for the 2017-18 school year. Scholarships typically start becoming available from January-early April.

Click here for a senior scholarship sheet. Students are to turn in the scholarships they have accepted from the college they are attending, parents' workplace, church, organizations, etc. so they may be recognized at the Senior Assembly on Thursday, May 24th. These scholarships sheets are due on May, 16, 2018.

Student Council Scholarship-$250 scholarship to be used for tuition or books. Must have served on student council. Click here for the application. May be returned to the guidance office. Deadline is May 1, 2018.

Student Council 2 year degree Scholarship-$250 scholarship to be used for tuition or books. Students do not need to be a student council member. Must have a GPA of 2.5-3.5 and pursuing a 2 year degree. Click here for the application. May be returned to the guidance office. Deadline is May 1, 2018.

Timothy Millisor Scholarship-Memorial scholarship available to all high school seniors. Complete the scholarship application and return to the address provided. Deadline is April 13, 2018.

Wes and Karen Schertzer Memorial Scholarship-$1,000 scholarship in memory of Wes and Karen (Rush) Schertzer. This scholarship is available for any graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or above. Click here for an application. Applications will be returned to the guidance office. Deadline is May 1, 2018.

Altrusa Scholarship-A scholarship awarded to any senior in Marion County continuing their education. One scholarship is for students majoring in business, one scholarship is for students majoring in any area, and one scholarship is given for students in Practical Nursing. The deadline is April 15, 2018.

PTO/Needles reference pages now available.....
Pat Needles Scholarship-$500 scholarship awarded to a senior with a cumulative GPA between 2.0-2.9 through the 3rd nine weeks of the grading period of their senior year. Parents must be members of the Pleasant PTO for the 2017-18 school year. Click here for an application. Applications are due to the high school guidance office. Deadline is 2:15pm on April 6, 2018. 

PTO Scholarship-
Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors. Parents must be 2017-18 members of the Pleasant PTO and applicants will be judged on academic achievement, awards/honors, activities inside and outside of school, and community service. Association of Governmental Accountants Scholarship-$1,000 scholarship offered to a high school senior planning to pursue a degree in a financial management field....see the application for the list of majors. Pleasant Township Firefighters Scholarship
-One $500 scholarship available to a senior pursuing a certificate or degree in the areas of public safety, nursing, law enforcement, firefighters, or EMS. Minimum GPA of 2.5 required. Click here for the application. Return all applications and materials to the HS guidance office. Deadline is April 20, 2018.

Central Ohio Farmers Co-op Scholarship
-$1500 scholarship available for any high school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or an ag-related major. Click here for the application. Applications should be returned to the address provided. Deadline is March 30, 2018.

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Foundation-$1,000 scholarship that my be renewable up to 3 additional years. Must be an Ohio resident and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Student must be majoring in the natural gas industry or related energy field. Many majors are included in this scholarship because they could be related to the energy field. Some of these majors include, biology, chemistry, industrial design, graphic design, web design/digital media, education, psychology, engineering, accounting, business, etc. Click here for the application. Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation Scholarship-$1,000 scholarship that may be renewed. Must be a US citizen, an Ohio resident or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, career goal in the crude oil or natural gas industry. Marion Technical College Scholarship
-Three scholarships available to students planning to attend MTC. The Foundation Scholarship is for students in the top 5% of their senior class. The President's Scholarship is for students in the top 50% of their senior class. The College Tech Prep Scholarship is for students who have completed the Tech Prep curriculum. Marion Lecture Recital Club Scholarship
-$1,000 scholarship available to HS seniors planning to attend an accredited college and pursue a major in the field of music (vocal study, instrumental study, music production, music therapy). Click here for details and application. Completed applications should be emailed to the provided email address. Deadline is Friday, March 9, 2018.

Trachsel Scholarship-available to students planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college, up to $10,000 
available per year, not solely based upon academic record. Click here

United Federal Credit Union-$1,000 scholarship awarded to high school seniors planning to pursue an education at an accredited college, trade school, or university. Must demonstrate commitment to community service and have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA or a 21.2 on the ACT. Click here for the scholarship application. Deadline is March 31, 2018.

Pleasant Music Boosters Scholarships-Two scholarships totaling $1,000 will be offered to two high school seniors who have been actively involved in the vocal and/or instrumental music program at Pleasant. Pleasant Athletic Booster Scholarship-Ten $500 available to senior athletes, parents must be current athletic booster members before December 31st, student athletes must be involved in a varsity sport during senior year, must have participated in at least 2 years of HS sports and earned at least one varsity letter, minimum GPA of 2.0, and no extra curricular handbook violations. Madia/OSUM Scholarship-This $2500 scholarship will be awarded to one female and one male senior planning to attend OSU-Marion and major in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related field. This includes students who are majoring in the medical field and/or science or math education field. Student must be in good academic standing. Click here for application instructions. OSU Alumni Scholars Program-$1200 scholarships given to students planning to attend either OSU-Columbus OR OSU-Marion. A few scholarships will go to students in the top 10% of the class but additional scholarships will be given to good, all around students planning to attend OSU. ***Marion Community Foundation Scholarships-The Marion Community Foundation has many scholarships that apply to Pleasant HS students. These scholarships range from $500-$2,000 and some of the more competitive scholarships can reward up to $5,000-$10,000. Pleasant Association of Teachers Scholarship-$500 scholarship available to a senior planning to attend a four year college to pursue a degree in education. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required. National Honor Society Scholarship-$250 scholarship available to a senior who is NOT a member of the Pleasant National Honor Society. Must be planning to attend a college or university next fall. Bowling Green State University Freshman Scholarship
-available for graduation seniors planning to attend BGSU. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000-$8,000 for students who have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 20 on the ACT. Honda Engineering Scholarship-Honda Manufacturing has $2500 of scholarships available for students pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering and technology. Students must be graduating high school, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and attending one of the following colleges either part-time or full time: Marion Tech, Columbus State, Rhodes State, Clark State, Sinclair CC, or Edison CC.
