Scholarships

I will un-strike the scholarships as they become available for the 2019-20 school year. Scholarships typically start becoming available from January-early April.

Click here for a senior scholarship sheet and parent letter. Students are to turn in the scholarships they have accepted from the college they are attending, parents' workplace, church, organizations, etc. so they may be recognized at the Senior Assembly on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 9am. These scholarships sheets are due on May 8, 2020.


Pat Needles Scholarship-$500 scholarship awarded to a senior with a cumulative GPA between 2.0-2.9 through the 3rd nine weeks of the grading period of their senior year. Parents must be members of the Pleasant PTO for the 2018-19 school year. Click here for an application. Applications are due to the high school guidance office. Deadline is 2:15pm on April 26, 2019. 

PTO Scholarship-
Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors. Parents must be 2018-19 members of the Pleasant PTO and applicants will be judged on academic achievement, awards/honors, activities inside and outside of school, and community service. Click here for an application. Applications are due to the HS guidance office. Deadline is 2:15pm on April 26, 2019. 


Medical Mutual Scholarship-$500 scholarship to be used toward college tuition. Students must complete an essay and provide a transcript and FAFSA. Click https://cfprograms.smapply.io/prog/medmutual/ for the online application. Deadline is April 1, 2019 5pm.

Trachsel Scholarship
-available to students planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college, up to $10,000 available per year, not solely based upon academic record. Click here for application. All applications are due to the guidance office. Deadline is March 25, 2019 which is during Spring Break. Thus, applications are due to the guidance office by noon March 22, 2019. I will not be available to deliver applications dropped off or emailed after this time on March 22.

Central Ohio Farmer's Co-Op Scholarship-$1500 scholarship for seniors planning to major in agriculture crop and soil, agricultural science, technology and management, large animal science and ag related fields. Click here for the application. Mail application to the address provided. Deadline is March 1, 2019.

Pleasant Athletic Booster Scholarship-Ten $500 available to senior athletes, parents must be current athletic booster members before December 31st, student athletes must be involved in a varsity sport during senior year, must have participated in at least 2 years of HS sports and earned at least one varsity letter, minimum GPA of 2.0, and no extra curricular handbook violations. Pleasant Music Boosters Scholarships-Two scholarships totaling $1,000 will be offered to two high school seniors who have been actively involved in the vocal and/or instrumental music program at Pleasant. Click here for the application and further criteria information. All applications will be returned to the HS guidance office. Deadline is Friday, April 5, 2019.

Abbreviation Finder Scholarship-a merit-based scholarship of USD $7,500 awarded to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, participation and leadership in school activities and work experience. Click here for more information and to start an online application. Deadline is July 1, 2019.


Pleasant Township Firefighters Scholarship-One $500 scholarship available to a senior pursuing a certificate or degree in the areas of public safety, nursing, law enforcement, firefighters, or EMS. Minimum GPA of 2.5 required. Click here for the application. Return all applications and materials to the HS guidance office. Deadline is April 10, 2019.

Madia/OSUM Scholarship-This $2500 scholarship will be awarded to one female and one male senior planning to attend OSU-Marion and major in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related field. This includes students who are majoring in the medical field and/or science or math education field. Student must be in good academic standing. Click here for application instructions. Applications will be returned to the HS guidance office. Deadline is April 5, 2019.

OSU Alumni Scholars Program-$1200 scholarships given to students planning to attend either OSU-Columbus OR OSU-Marion. A few scholarships will go to students in the top 10% of the class but additional scholarships will be given to good, all around students planning to attend OSU. Thus, all OSU Columbus or Marion bound students are encouraged to apply. Click here for an application. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE TURNED INTO MRS. Pleasant Association of Teachers Scholarship-$500 scholarship available to a senior planning to attend a four year college to pursue a degree in education. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required. Click here for an application. All applications and materials should be returned to the HS guidance office. Deadline is April 16, 2019.

National Honor Society Scholarship-$250 scholarship available to a senior who is NOT a member of the Pleasant National Honor Society. Must be planning to attend a college or university next fall. Click here for the application. All applications and materials should be returned to the HS guidance office. Deadline is April 10, 2019.

Honda Engineering Scholarship-Honda Manufacturing has $2500 of scholarships available for students pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering and technology. Students must be graduating high school, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and attending one of the following colleges either part-time or full time: Marion Tech, Columbus State, Rhodes State, Clark State, Sinclair CC, or Edison CC. Marion Community Foundation Scholarships-The Marion Community Foundation has many scholarships that apply to Pleasant HS students. These scholarships have a large monetary range. Go to the following website and click the scholarships tab to see available scholarships for 2019 and to complete an application. https://www.marioncommunityfoundation.org/mcf/ The
deadline is March 1, 2019 at Noon.


Megawatt Scholarship Program-$5,000 scholarship provided by Whirlpool and One Energy Corporations. Available to graduating seniors pursing a 2 or 4 year degree in a STEM field (science, engineering, technology, or math). Minimum GPA of 2.5 is also required. OSUM Alber Scholarship-Scholarships available to incoming freshmen who reside in Marion County. Scholarship amounts vary by academic status. Must apply directly to OSU-Marion. Click here for application link and Alber Scholarship information. Students who apply to OSUM by December 1st will also receive an additional $500 scholarship.

Marion Technical College Scholarship-Two scholarships available to students planning to attend MTC. The Foundation Scholarship is for students in the top 5% of their senior class. The President's Scholarship is for students in the top 50% of their senior class.  Click here for the application.The deadline is May 1, 2019.


Bowling Green State University Freshman Scholarship-The Freshman Academic Scholarship is good for all four years. These automatic scholarships (no essay or interview) start at a 3.0 GPA and 20 ACT. Credentials can be updated for a possibly larger scholarship until March 1. Deadline: HS Seniors must apply to BGSU by Jan. 15 to be considered.
